Operations in the Candler Building 1936-1960
A flexoline strip was prepared for each account. The identifying information was printed on the flexoline strips by a listing machine. The strips were in continuous rolls. 25,000 strips could be prepared by the machine in one day.
The actuarial cards are punched and taped prior to the preparation of a microfilm with the names arranged in the same filing sequence used in the "old" flexoline file. The microfilm of the new accounts and corrections is spliced to the master microfilm copy each month. 72,000 accounts can be microfilmed by the electronic microfilm printer in seven minutes.
