SSA is reporting 100% issuance for both employees and contractors as of December 2009. Ongoing efforts to re-issue and credential new employees and contracts continue, but we are fully compliant with the mandate for issuance.

Implementation Plan Summary

Next Major Milestone:
M11:11 Compliance

SSA has implemented limited logical access for VPN, Windows, and HSPD-12 issuer users. Full-scale deployment is expected in November 2012. Physical access is ongoing with 70% of Level III and IV facilities currently using the credential for verification and entrance to the building and secure rooms through turnstiles and card readers. Implementation projects continue to bring the Agency to 100% completion.
