The 93rd PA Farm Show took place this year in early January. It is
the largest state agricultural fair of its kind in the country. It
is unique as well because it is held in winter, entirely indoors,
in 11 buildings spread over 24 acres. About 6,000 cattle, sheep,
rabbits, fowl, horses and swine gather for 8 days of exhibition and
competition and over 400,000 people attend.
Social
Security was just one of over 300 commercial exhibitors that
participated in the Farm Show. Since Social Security's booth was
located between a vendor offering free food samples and the 900 pound
Butter Sculpture, we really got a lot of attention. However, the
real attraction this year was our life-size cardboard cut out of
Patty
Duke. Patty was a great help! Baby

Boomers were attracted to
our booth to obtain
online
retirement estimates, learn about
online
retirement filing and ask many types of
Social
Security questions. Patty graciously allowed visitors to take
photos with her. Over 30 employees helped to staff the booth during
the 8 days of operation, answering many questions and giving out
thousands of message products including the very latest pamphlets
with the
"It's
So Easy" message.
