The Office of Retirement Policy's four major areas of responsibility include:
- Conducting in-depth analyses of Social Security solvency proposals;
- Preparing short-turnaround analyses on critical issues for the Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner for Retirement and Disability Policy, and other agency officials;
- Producing policy-relevant research;
- Leading the new agency initiative on financial literacy.
