Do You Have Questions?  We Have Answers!

Have you tried SSA’s online customer help?  Take just a moment now to see how easy it is.

Go to employer-ssa.custhelp.com to see Questions and Answers for employers.  To save time, you can also narrow the search by selecting a category in the pull down category list.  (Try “SSNVS” or “Wage Garnishment” then press the “Search” button.)  And at the end of every answer, there’s a link to ask SSA to notify you by e-mail when the answer is updated.  (The first time you choose this, you’ll be asked to register, because SSA never sends “spam” or unsolicited e-mails.)

If you’re interested in general Social Security information instead, go to http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov to see different Questions and Answers and different topics in the pull down category list – and some have sub topics, too.  (Try “Wage Garnishment” again to see a different list of questions your employees might ask.  And, of course, you can print and give the employees the answers if they ask you.)

Important!! Social Security needs to keep in touch with Business Services Online Users.

Please remember to keep your registration up-to-date. Log in to change your password at least once a year and also to check and make changes in your contact information (address/phone/fax/e-mail) if needed. If you use payroll/tax software to prepare an EFW2 file, also make sure a correct and complete mailing address is entered in the "Submitter Record". (Follow your software vendor's instructions or consult your programmer on how to enter or change User ID and address information in an EFW2 file.)
