SSA’s Selective Placement Program assists qualified individuals with disabilities in obtaining non-competitive employment under the federal government’s Schedule A Excepted Service appointing authority. This appointing authority can be extended to individuals with mental retardation, severe physical disabilities, or psychiatric disabilities. Regional and component Selective Placement Coordinators can answer your questions regarding SSA hiring.
