I-4-6-12.Clerical Procedures for Incoming Remand Orders — Case Referral

Last Update: 08/22/16 (Transmittal I-4-56)

The procedures for processing remand orders explained in Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law manual I-4-6 will be followed by the Office of Appellate Operations (OAO) branches when a new remand order is referred by a Court Case Preparation and Review Branch (CCPRB). All of the Appeals Review Processing System (ARPS) entries will be made by staff in the CCPRBs up to and including an entry showing the date and OAO branch to which the remand was referred. After receipt of the case, the OAO branch support staff will make appropriate entries in ARPS to reflect the receipt date, assignment to an analyst, and all subsequent case processing activities, including the date when the case is returned to the CCPRB. When necessary, additional case processing information may be included in the “remarks” portion of ARPS.
