Background

This transmittal amends section I-2-8-50 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to update procedures relating to handling hearing recordings after a decision is issued in a claim involving a paper claim(s) file.

Explanation of Content and Changes

Section I-2-8-50 is amended as follows:

I-2-8-50 – We amended the title to “Handling Hearing Recordings After Decision (Paper Claim(s) Files Only)” to more accurately reflect the information addressed in the section.

I-2-8-50 A – We made editorial changes to the language and inserted several helpful citations to other HALLEX instructions. We also added a NOTE that was previously located in subsection B.

I-2-8-50 B – We made editorial and formatting changes to the language and moved instructions regarding shipping to new subsection C.

I-2-8-50 C – We added subsection C titled “Shipping CDs to Megasite,” incorporated information previously in subsection B, and made minor editorial changes.
