Christine

I live with a crippling disorder, Guillain-Barré syndrome. Although my condition limits movement and confines me to a wheelchair, receiving disability benefits remove a number of roadblocks from my life. I am beyond grateful to receive Social Security benefits because it literally helps me live.

I pay my bills, buy gas and groceries, and it is all with the disability assistance Social Security provides each month. One important thing is that, with this help, I am able to be independent and part of my community. Otherwise, in my condition, I would probably live in a nursing facility for the rest of my life. Now, I don't have to. Thank you, Social Security, for helping me to be a productive citizen.
