Please provide details about your work for your employer. We will ask you about possible self-employment later.

You can work while you receive Social Security retirement benefits. If you do, it could mean a higher benefit for you. That can be important to you later in life. It also could increase the future benefit amounts your family and/or survivors may receive.

However, if you are under your full retirement age and receiving Social Security benefits, we will deduct part or all of your benefits if you earn over a certain amount.

Starting with the month you reach full retirement age, you may receive your benefits with no limit on your earnings.

ALERT

If you work outside the United States, the rules about receiving benefits while you work are different.
