Social Security Number Pamphlet From 1953
This 1953 Social Security pamphlet, featuring SSA's cartoon
character of the era, J. Wilbur Worker, was provided with new Social
Security cards. This card was attached and would be torn off the
pamphlet. The purpose of the pamphlet was to explain the value and
use of the Social Security Number.
