What is the Non-Medical Appeal application?
The online Non-Medical Appeal application will let you request an appeal if you were denied for a reason that is not disability related (for example: income, resources, overpayments, and living arrangements).
After you complete and submit your Non-Medical Appeal application, you will see a confirmation page that shows we received your Non-Medical Appeal. You can print or save the page as a receipt for your records.
How long can I work on each page?
There are time limits for your work on each page. If you spend 25 minutes on a page without making any changes, you will receive a warning but will be able to extend your time on the page.
When you receive the third warning, you must move to another page or your time will run out and the information you entered will be lost.
How do I move around in the application?
Use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons at the top and bottom of the page to move forward and backward page by page. Using the "Next" button takes you to every page where you may need to enter information.
You also may use the tabs at the top of the page to move between sections. However, if you are working on a page and you use the tab to go to another section, your work on just that page will be lost.
Important:
- Do not use the "Enter" key on your keyboard to move around this application or make a selection from the drop down lists.
- Do not use your browser's "Back" button to move around this application.
- Do not close your browser or use the "X" button to leave this application.
Can I submit my appeal at any time?
Our online applications are only unavailable for a few hours very early each morning for maintenance. You can view the hours of availability here. You do need to submit your online appeal during the operating window. Please note that the online appeal can take about an hour to complete, so please plan accordingly to avoid having to restart your appeal.
