Chapter: I-4-3
Subject: Court Remands
We are revising sections I-4-3-50 and I-4-3-60 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual, chapter I-4-3, to reflect recent changes in processing requests for clarification at the Appeals Council level.
This transmittal includes the following revisions:
I-4-3-50 – We made editorial changes throughout the section and included a hyperlink to HALLEX I-2-1-85 for reference.
I-4-3-60 – We changed the title of the section to “Motions for Clarification of Appeals Council Remand Orders After Court Remand” to more accurately reflect its content. We added background information explaining when an administrative law judge may request clarification. We deleted outdated information and provided links to the current instructions.
