Background

This transmittal amends section I-5-1-22 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual following the archiving of form SSA-1695, “Identifying Information for Possible Direct Payment of Authorized Fees.”

Explanation of Content and Changes

I-5-1-22 – We instructed Office of Hearings Operations and Office of Appellate Operations staff to review the Registration, Appointment and Services for Representatives intranet application and the direct payment section of the revised form SSA-1696 or to request a form SSA-1696 or other written notice from the principal and secondary representative(s), if needed. We revised subsection IV.C. to remove references to and instructions for processing form SSA-1695, because that form is now obsolete. We also updated the note under this subsection, which discusses processing of the now obsolete form SSA- 1695.
