Maryland Centenarian Recognition LuncheonMD Centenarians

The City of Baltimore and the Social Security Administration (SSA) hosted the 21st Maryland Centenarian Luncheon for 38 centenarians and their families. The seniors and their guests were treated to an enjoyable lunch, singing, dancing and poetry. One centenarian, age 102, served as the honorary chairperson. He stated that he is single and available and still has a driver’s license (he drove himself to the event!)

SSA Philadelphia Regional Commissioner Terry Stradtman greeted the centenarians and congratulated them on achieving a milestone of longevity. Commissioner Stradtman wished all the mothers attending a happy Mother’s Day and reminded them that SSA was releasing the most popular baby names for the previous year in honor of mothers all over the country. He invited everyone to go to SocialSecurity.gov to view 2012’s winners and to find out more about the benefit programs SSA administers.
