Subject: Administrative Law Judge Decisions
This transmittal amends section I-2-8-5 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to clarify the effect of an Appeals Council own motion review. We also made minor editorial and formatting changes.
I-2-8-5 – In addition to minor editorial changes, we added a bullet to clarify that the administrative law judge's decision is final and binding on the claimant unless the Appeals Council reviews the decision using its own motion authority.
