Subject: Administrative Law Judge Decisions
This transmittal amends chapter I-2-8 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to update instructions for electronically signing an administrative law judge (ALJ) decision.
Chapter I-2-8 is amended as follows:
I-2-8-43 – We changed the title to “Administrative Law Judge Electronic Signature of Fully Favorable and Partially Favorable Decisions” to more accurately reflect the updated content. We removed outdated instructions and replaced the information with updated instructions for eSigning an ALJ decision. The updated instructions were added in four new subsections titled “General,” “Status Required Before Signature,” “Completing Electronic Signature,” and “Removing an Electronic Signature.”
I-2-8-45 – We changed the title to “Case Processing and Management System Case Routing” for consistency with other HALLEX sections. We removed outdated instructions and replaced the information with updated instructions that more accurately reflect the current business process. We also made minor formatting and editorial changes.
