Background
This transmittal adds section I-3-5-55 to the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to provide instructions for when a claimant dies shortly after the Appeals Council denies review of an administrative law judge action.
Explanation of Content and Changes
Section I-3-5-55 is organized as follows:
I-3-5-55 – We added a new section titled “Death of Claimant Shortly After Denial of Request for Review” and incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-3-9-32.
