What is a personal my Social Security account and how do I get one?

A personal my Social Security account can be used to access both personal and business services with Social Security. You can create your new my Social Security account through our credential service providers, Login.gov or ID.me.

If you are unable to create an account or encounter a problem with your my Social Security account, call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or contact your local Social Security office (appointment required).
