In 1951, an electronic calculator was used to develop the benefit amount. 6,000 cases were processed in a day. This was the first electronic equipment used by DAO. The operation required six passes of punch cards through the machine to develop the trial computation amounts.

A number of benefit formulae are applied in the computation of benefits by today's high speed eletronic computer. About 15,000 cases a day are processed.
