More Than 100 Million People Now Use my Social Security
Date:
Dear Colleague,
More than 100 million people have created a personal my Social Security account, marking an important milestone for Social Security. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering services that are secure, convenient, and responsive to the public’s needs. This progress also supports our digital-first strategy to deliver timely and accurate service by meeting people where they choose to engage with us, including online, by phone, or in person.
With a personal my Social Security account, your clients can access personalized tools whether or not they currently receive benefits. Through a free and secure account, people can request a replacement Social Security card, check the status of an application, estimate future benefits, manage current benefits, and view their most recent Social Security Statement, including earnings history and benefit estimates.
We encourage you to share information about my Social Security with the people and communities you serve. To create an online my Social Security account, your clients will first need a Login.gov or ID.me account. Share the How to Choose Your Sign-in Account for my Social Security video on your communication channels to help guide them through the process. Creating an account is easy and can be done at www.ssa.gov/myaccount.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us connect your clients with the services and information they need.
Sincerely,
Nick Perrine
