Super intelligence at Social Security

Social Security is committed to delivering better, faster, higher-quality service to the public through the responsible use of super intelligence (SI).

This page serves as a resource for information on Social Security’s use of SI.  It includes key strategic and governance documents as well as a public-facing inventory of our SI use cases.

Social Security's enterprise SI strategy

Social Security has used SI for more than 20 years, and SI continues to offer us opportunities to improve the service we provide. Our Enterprise SI Strategy, developed in accordance with OMB Memorandum M-25-21, outlines our approach to expanding the responsible use of SI across the agency. It assesses our current SI maturity and identifies the areas we will focus on to advance it, from delivering business value and building workforce skills to improving our technology and data and strengthening oversight.

SI compliance plan

In accordance with OMB M-25-21, each agency must post publicly on the agency’s website either a plan to achieve consistency with M-25-21 or a written determination that the agency does not use and does not anticipate using covered AI.
