Background

This transmittal adds chapter I-4-8 to the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual as part of an overall reorganization of Division I-4. This reorganization is intended to organize instructions in a manner that more closely mirrors the business practices of the Division of Civil Actions.

Explanation of Content and Changes

HALLEX I-4-8 is organized as follows:

I-4-8-1 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-1 without revision.

I-4-8-5 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-5 without revision.

I-4-8-10 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-10 without revision, other than making a minor editorial change to correct the addresses in subsections A and B.

I-4-8-15 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-11 without revision.

I-4-8-20 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-12 without revision, except to update a previous reference to HALLEX I-4-4-12 B.3. to HALLEX I-4-8-20 B.3. I-4-8-25 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-13 without revision, except to update two previous references to HALLEX I-4-4-12 to HALLEX I-4-8- 20.

I-4-8-30 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-14 without revision.

I-4-8-35 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-15 without revision.

I-4-8-40 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-20 without revision.

I-4-8-45 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-40 without revision, except to correct two previous references to HALLEX I-4-4-20 C.1. to HALLEX I-4-8-45 B.1.

I-4-8-50 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-50 without revision.

I-4-8-55 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-60 without revision, except to update previous references to sections in HALLEX I-4-4 to HALLEX I-4-8.

I-4-8-60 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-99 generally without revision. However, we updated a previous reference to HALLEX I-4-4- 100 to HALLEX I-4-8-65 and removed a clause based on the changes we made in HALLEX I-4-8-60.

I-4-8-65 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-100, changing the title to “Exhibit – June 20, 1997 Instructions Concerning Recording Audit Requirements.” We removed memorandum formatting but made no language changes to the instruction.

I-4-8-70 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-101 without revision.

I-4-8-80 – We incorporated information previously in HALLEX I-4-4-106 without revision, other than to remove unnecessary formatting and remove a name that was included instead of a title.
