Logging into SSNVS

To access SSNVS, you must first log in to Business Services Online (BSO):

  • Open the BSO Welcome web page.
  • From the “Employers” box, select “Log in”, then select one of the following options:

    Sign in with LOGIN.GOV.

    Sign in with ID.me.

    Sign in with Social Security Username.

    Note

    If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, an authorization error message will be displayed when you select the Log In link. See the System Requirements section of this handbook for details.

    Once the credentialing and authentication process has been completed, current BSO User ID(s) will be associated with your credential.

  • If you are a new user or need to add SSNVS to your existing account, we will mail an activation code. The activation code is sent via the United State Postal Service (USPS) to the employer’s address registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Your employer will usually receive it within two (2) weeks.
  • Once you have obtained your activation code, return to the BSO Welcome page. Log back into BSO from the Employer’s box after selecting “Log in”. Enter the activation code and then you will be taken to the BSO Main Menu web page. The BSO Main Menu web page is your point of entry for SSNVS and all other BSO services.

Note

The use of the browser's Back, Forward and Refresh buttons may unintentionally log you out of BSO.
