What you must report while getting Retirement

Report income if you're under Full Retirement Age

Work earnings before Full Retirement Age (between 66 and 67) can affect your benefit payment. If you said you’d keep working when you applied, we’ll send you a form each year to estimate your earnings.

Let us know if:

  • You expect to earn more than you estimated, or
  • You start working after saying you wouldn’t.

Sign in and search for Statement of Claimant or Other Person (SSA-795) (PDF). Then, complete the form, upload any additional documents you might have, and submit it to us. 

When you complete the form, make sure you tell us: 

  • A brief explanation of your work status or income change.
  • The date of the change.
